Java must be installed and enabled on your PC for the TRIAX Design-Online Design Tool Application to work.
NOTE: Chrome and Firefox functionality with Java is slightly crippled as Google and Mozilla respectively have disabled the auto-start functionality.
Both browsers can still be used with the DoL Java application though, but the application will not start automatically. You need to click an icon first.

Java Certificates
Professional Companies who make Java Applications available via the Internet most often also install authorized Code Signing Certificates on their Server to indicate the validity and correctness of the application. TRIAX of course installed a Certificate for the Design OnLine application. When the DoL application is first executed via the browser, the browser looks for, and shows you the TRIAX Code Signing Certificate. A dialog box is then issued asking you to accept it, by clicking the button �Run�. (See page 8). TRIAX hereby declares the validity of the DoL application and we assure you, that it is safe to execute and use the application in your browser. We ask you to accept the Certificate and recommend you to also tick the �Do not show this again�� field. If you do not tick the field, DoL will prompt you again the next time you start the application.
Different Browser behavior at start of Java applications
Java Implementation and function details are different on the browsers used by end users. Generally java should work with most browsers, but some features are not supported on all. On Chrome and Firefox for instance, the java auto execute function (auto-matic start when the java application is launched) is disabled.
This means that when you click the DoL �Start Design Tool� button, Firefox and Chrome will not start execution of the application automatically as other browsers does, but instead treat the code as a downloadable file and download it to your download drawer. In Chrome you will see something like this:

After you have clicked the �Keep� button the java application icon is shown as a button on the same spot as the above warning:

Double-click the �Design ToolXXXX� button, and the DoL Design Application will start as shown on page 7 (Here it will show the Design with ID 16141).
NOTE: The .jnlp file should have the correct file-assosiation set during initial java installation and therefor autostart when double clicked. If it does not, please right-click the icon and set the file association to: �Java � Web Start Launcher�.
Java does not work on my PC.
Most Smartphones and Tablets (iOS: iPhone, iPad and Android, etc.) does not support Java (it cannot be installed), and consequently the DoL Tool cannot be started on such devices. You may log in and see all your Plans and BoMs, and also do printouts, but actual Designing is not possible.
